This is an incredible opportunity to be the driving force behind an ambitious place shaping agenda including a Local Plan that will balance the needs of our existing communities, whilst meeting our future need. The role is not just central to our emerging Local Plan but is central to the function and success of the Planning department as a whole. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in business planning and strategic decision-making, directly contributing to the direction and success of the department and the wider organisation. Working as part of the Council’s Senior Leadership team, you bring a strategic perspective that cuts across all service areas to support the authority’s ambitious place shaping aspirations.

The service is well-regarded by stakeholders and you will be working with a talented group of officers with experience and enthusiasm, across a range of disciplines.

This role presents a fantastic opportunity for someone who can match our drive and determination whilst developing and the talent we already have.
